As an opinion leader, Hongmei has been active on the boards and executive forums for the U.S. and international organizations. Her current and past affiliations include the Advisory Board for American Chemical Society CAS, the National Governing Board for Association for Women in Science, Genentech Foundation Board, and the Board for PRISME – an executive forum for R&D data and digital leaders in the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, she acts as an advisor for a number of startups and venture firms.
Prior to founding ClarityNexus, Hongmei served as the Vice President and Global Head of Digital Strategy and Enablement for Roche, based at the Genentech Campus. During her tenure, She was a key leader in Roche’s corporate data initiative, spearheading vision, strategy roadmap, and execution across R&D. These cross functional efforts fundamentally reshaped how data was perceived and leveraged across the organization, delivering disease specific data marts and foundational systems to bring research, clinical and real world data together, and applying AI and advanced analytics for insights to fuel the research programs and clinical studies. In recent years, she also led global efforts to develop Generative AI and digital capabilities for clinical development.
Hongmei earned her PhD from Scripps Research, and has held global leadership roles in pharmaceutical/biotech companies including Novartis and Johnson & Johnson. With three decades of experience, she has consistently been a pioneering force at the forefront of technology waves and innovations, driving the transformation of digital landscapes in healthcare and beyond.
